Step-by-step plan

1. Perform a calm, thorough inspection focusing on brood pattern and queen health.
2. Assess current store levels to ensure enough food for the colony.
3. Check for any signs of late-season queen cells or swarm preparation.
4. Monitor for varroa and other common health indicators.
5. Observe colony temperament and check for any signs of robbing by wasps or other bees.
6. Record all observations clearly in the log.

Do not do
